Website problems

Thought it was time that I explained the crazy problems on my

website. I upgraded my ecommerce and now you can see

the result. Such a sad looking website I hate it hate it.

We have been working on it this past week, tweeking this

tweeking that. My major advice to everyone is "Backup"

"Backup" your sites no matter how secure you feel. If I

had done what I preach all would be back to normal by now.

Anyway I have been digitizing all week to calm the nerves.

Have attached a photo of 2 of the designs they will be

available as a set in the near future.

As a follow up from last Sunday's post, about my Mailing List drive, what are the benefits of joining Mailing Lists on your favourite sites. I can only explain from my own experiences. Be a little "choosey" about which sites you join as I am sure you do not want to be blasted out of the sky every day with Newsletters and free designs that are not worth the thread and fabric that you had to use. But you do want to be notified when new designs are added or when special deals are being offered on the beautiful sites. You may have found a site that has the most gorgeous designs on it but you are just not in a position to purchase at that time so join their Mailing List and soon they may offer a wonderful price. Like buy 2 and get the 3rd one free or their whole site may have a discount on it. So it was worth the wait.
I hope my rambling has been of benefit to you and you will visit my website and while there join my mailing list and the other request I have is to like my Facebook page. Yes I know way too many requests so until next time.

Azilembroidery – Website Revamp:

I know that here in Australia Spring is not in the air but that has not hindered me in my quest to revamp my website.

I am not really one for change for the sake of change but the Azilembroidery – Website Revamp was needed to attract more attention and I sincerely hope that is what will happen.

Have added a sign up for Mailing List also. Now you will not be bombarded with emails every other day. You will be sent an email when I offer a special that only you will be eligible for. Soon I will begin sending out free designs to my list so please keep an eagle eye out for this important email that will include the attachment.

Comments are most welcome as that is how we learn if you like our website or not and whether we are offering the machine embroidery designs you are looking for. So you see your comment is very important to us.

This is one the machine embroidery designs that I am currently working on just need to stitch them out and post them on the website. So keep a look out for them soon.

Machine Embroidery Hooping techniques

What are the correct machine embroidery hooping techniques

The fabric should be taut in the hoop but should not be stretched or distorted. If you pull the fabric too tightly, it will pucker around the design once the fabric is released from the hoop. Now this is very important. Another very important step in machine embroidery hooping techniques is to print out your template, do not omit this step.

Basic Machine Embroidery Hooping Steps

Open the outer hoop (usually by loosening a screw on the rim) and place it on a flat stable surface such as a table or counter.

Place a single layer of fabric that you are going to use for your machine embroidery with stabilizer over it. If hoping a ready-made garment be sure that other portions of the garment are out of the way.

Position the inner hoop over the fabric and push it down into the outer hoop. Smooth the fabric and do not pull at it, that is a sure way to distort the finished article. Tighten the screw of the hoop.

Use the plastic template provided with most machine embroidery hoops to make sure the fabric is hooped on-grain and the placement is as desired. (Machine embroidery on-grain is very important for your design piece. Otherwise the finished piece of machine embroidery will not sit flat.)

Cards I have even purchased the Stamps so it is just a walk to the box

and away they go for 2010. Where oh Where did 2010 go.

Multi Needle Machine

Recently I took possession of a Multi Needle Embroidery Machine

So I have not had time to post here but have been busy stitching

out designs and finding out how this beautiful lady works

The Dragonflys & the Wresting Animals have been stitched on her.

Betsy just hums along after I have set her in motion

I now have this wonderful hoop that I have just stitched

a 14ins X 9.5ins (355 X 236) design without yes without rehooping

that is the most wonderful feeling. It had an applique centre and

I am able to set the machine to Manual so that it stops after

each colour change how cool is that.

There is also a Cap Hoop but will wait awhile before I venture

into that but Christmas is coming fast so I probably will have to learn

fast

Since my last post have added a few new designs so please

Redwork originally applied to a very simple linear style of embroidery that became popular in the United States in the late 1800's

Redwork designs were basic line drawings of children, birds, flowers, a water pump, and other objects found around every

Embroidery Library has many Projects for you to enjoy

I particularly like Embroidery by Machine on Suede or Leather

have attached 2 photos of a Bag that I made a couple of years

ago. Cannot believe that it that long ago

This is a piece of Faux Suede and it stitched out beautifully.

One thing to remember when stitching on these fabrics is

to make sure that the design is not too dense.

As you can see my Rose is very open actually I used

the Photostitch in Generations to digitize it.

FSL Guidelines

Embroider Free Standing Lace

Embroider FSL designs on non woven dissoluble stabilizer. Usually one to two layers works well.

Use two layers for more dense designs, or designs with much satin stitching in them which tear a single layer.

The stabilizer should be hooped taunt but not drum tight. Both upper thread and bobbin should be the same

embroidery thread this will give a better finish to your design.

When you have finished stitching out your design, trim away the excess stabilizer around the design.

It is preferable to leave a little edge of the stabilizer around the design.

Then soak in warm water for a few seconds. Make sure you also trim away any loose threads,

both on top of the embroidery and on the underside or else they will stick to the finished piece.

How long you soak for is a personal preference and also what the finished article is to be used for.

Pat dry with a towel and lay flat to dry. Also you can use Styrofoam and the long sewing pins to secure the shape.

For boxes I cut a plastic template out of plastic canvas the sizes that I want when finished.

I use these as guides to pin the project to the Styrofoam.

I stretch to the correct size so they will be uniform and sew together well.

Now if you think your project is too stiff (as when making a collar, baby items, etc.) -

then soak again in fabric softener and water. Usually after machine washing, it gets soft anyway.

Use the same Embroidery thread in both the top and in the bobbin when sewing, bring your bobbin thread up to the

top of the stabilizer before you begin by turning your machine wheel by hand.

This will help those first stitches catch and the excess thread will not tangle with the stitches below.

Cut the excess thread after taking a few stitches.

Sew pieces of FSL (as doily segments) together with a zigzag stitch.

There is a couple of ways to do this. You can fold two pieces right sides together.

Do a wider zigzag along the side. Try to miss hitting inside the satin stitching and then open them up.

Or butt two edges together on top of a strip of Vilene wss.

Pin them to the Vilene wss to keep them in place and then zigzag on top of them down the middle.

Now sit back and enjoy your masterpiece.

Children Machine Embroidery Designs

Children always love designs on their clothes; bags; pillow cases;

bedspreads, actually anything that they consider is theirs. If you

doubt what I am saying just watch them at play - they are always

drawing in the sand or on your walls when you aren't watching, am I right.

Applique is a great way to cover a tear in their favourite jeans or jacket.

Try anything that is simple, draw around their beautiful hands or feet

and applique that to their pocket, it then has their stamp on it.

When you purchase the applique designs from my website full

instructions are included, or if you need further clarification just

send me an email and I will explain it a little more hopefully.

Applique Machine Embroidery Designs

Applique Machine Embroidery Designs is not hard to do

so do not be afraid of it

Some things to remember though are

Start with good quality fabrics that have been washed; apply spray starch

and iron till dry between each spraying - I usually apply several coats.

I prefer to use for my applique a fabric that will not fray or if it does

tend to fray using a fray stopper before stitching the satin edging

remember to make sure that your fray stopper has completely dried.

The two designs that I have attached only used a small amount of

fabric so do use up those scraps that you have saved for a rainy day.

When you purchase one of my designs it includes all the instructions

to make your life easier at the machine

Even though it will say maybe 10 colour changes that is only because

you need these stops so that you can firstly know where to place your

applique material and secondly place your fabric and 3rd on the list

to remove the hoop and trim your fabric.

You can use the same colour thread all through the design if you

so wish

So enjoy your Applique Machine Embroidery in the Hoop

I recently was given this Singer Model 15-88 with the cabinet but it is missing its power cord. It has a nice looking Royal Air Force design and is displayed in my living room. The manual shows it to be a treadle but it has a motor and a light that is not original. What kind of cord would i need to fit this. Would any of the various model 15 Singers cords suffice? Thank you in advance.

Machine Embroidery Hints & Tips

This is how I approach my Machine Embroidery each time I start a new project.

Fabric: What category does it fall into – Soft; Medium weight; Linen like; Denim

I am sure you are following my drift.

What is the Item being used for. This is of major importance always consider how

Or what the finished Item is going to be used.

Design: is it dense; only an outline i.e.: Redwork; Applique; all these things

need to be taken into consideration.

Stabilizers: which one will be required; cutaway; tearaway (light or medium)

Washaway; will I need a Washaway on top as well.

Needles: Have I in my stock the correct Embroidery Needle for the fabric.

Threads: Do I have the colours that I need: You do not need to use the same brand

Or colours that the digitizer has used – that is only a guide for you

Hoops: Do I have a hoop that will fit my design. Always and I say always

Use the smallest hoop that you own to fit the design in.

Check out the Garden Doodles aren't they just
the cutest there are 6 of them still have 2 to go
uploaded them today
Have been working hard to make my website look more
professional still a long way to go but am getting there
Today found a way to add a Gallery for my Stitchouts
Have added a few more Machine embroidery designs
Still waiting for some visitors to my site but that will
come I am becoming more confident every day

I have just had a look at when I last posted
I was surprised that it is so long anyway
I am correcting that

I have started my new website please take
a look I would love some feed back

Each day I will upload new designs have been
working on a few designs lately just have to
decide if I offer them individually or as a set
or to offer as a set I just need to find out just how
I do that - Oh this is a major learning curve
but I am thoroughly enjoying it
Look forward to hearing your commit on

Where has the past week gone; I have been learning
how to digitize using Embird - have stitched out
Tweetie Bird 3 times - tomorrow my friend is
calling so a critique is in order
Have started on Elephant No 6 better get a move on
as the baby this is for is due in June hope it is late
June. So until next time stay safe

Have downloaded the free trial for Embird
and joined their Group
So a new learning curve is beginning
Will have to purchase the full version
you are unable to save anything in the
free trial - so what is the point
in for a penny in for a pound
cannot take my money with me
the Good Lord does not need paying

The Tail Mice are by Green Bees Designs with the Binding strip

This is the 2nd Border I think

There are 9 of these beautiful Mice

Here it is Tuesday already and I must start my Baby Quilt
today - have starched the fabric ready for Machine
Embroidery and have choosen the design and the thread
colours just need to get motivated

Testing the waters

Have retired from 50 years in the paid workforce, so have decided to start a Blog.
I was never very good at keeping a Diary so this is going to be very interesting.

It has been raining for the past week in South East Queensland, very good for
the dams, rivers & underground water courses,not hard to see that I am a
country girl at heart.

For the past week I have been busy digitizing, so that I can add more designs
to my page of designs that I have for sale. Will try and add the site
www.ecraftpatterns.com hello it has the blue lines so hopefully
I have done it correctly.
